After 20 years in the restaurant industry as a successful chef, pastry chef, and craft bartender, I chose to put restaurant life behind me and start training full time. I love watching people discover how strong they are. Increases in physical strength, fat loss, more endurance and stamina, these are all great metrics. Personal Accomplishments

I was very fortunate to be raised by parents who kept me active. Though I carried those habits with me into college, I also managed to develop some less healthy habits. I became a group fitness instructor as a way to keep myself active, but it didn’t make up for the lifestyle I had formed. I found myself gaining and losing the same weight several times. It wasn’t until after college that things clicked for me. When I began to pay attention to what my body was telling me it needed, I found a way to empower myself and make the necessary lifestyle changes. When I truly got healthy again, it overflowed into all other areas of my life, and that is what I strive to create for my clients.

I have overcome many challenges in my life including beating cancer and conquering my struggle with obesity. I was obese most of my life and did not form good exercise or food habits during my childhood. At the end of my freshman year of college at the age of 18, I was at my highest weight of 216lbs at height 5’6. Unhealthy food and eating controlled many aspects of my life and I never took responsibility for my weight. I would eat when I was happy, sad, bored, angry, and anxious. I did not enjoy exercise because it was particularly difficult due to my weight and sedentary lifestyle. I then decided to take my life into my own hands, accept responsibility for my weight and put in the work to get my weight under control and live a healthy lifestyle. To date I have lost about 53 pounds and I am very excited to help the women here at Healthworks accomplish their fitness goals.

Jeff is a former investment banker and entrepreneur who has focused on health care for the bulk of his career. Outdoor physical activities such as skiing, biking, golf and running have always been a part of his life. The idea of helping others to live healthier lifestyles as a career began to develop after making some major lifestyle changes over 6 years ago and enlisting the help of a personal trainer to accomplish his wellness goals. Jeff is excited that his journey has brought him Healthworks. Jeff serves as a member of the Board of Governors of the Boston Athletic Association, the organizer of the Boston Marathon. Personal Accomplishments

I have been challenged to push my physical limits from a young age. My whole life, I have dealt with complications with my shoulder that began with a Venous Malformation. At age 7, I suffered my second broken collarbone and it never healed properly. Yet these setbacks did not keep me from eventually working my way onto a Division I soccer program in college. After college I settled into a sedentary lifestyle and suffered several shoulder dislocations when I would play sports on the weekend. It began to negatively affect my quality of living so I decided to invest more time exercising in order to continue enjoying an active lifestyle. This is where my journey as a personal trainer began. My proudest personal accomplishment has been my resolve to challenge my physical insecurities in an effort to improve my quality of living.

A Detroit native, Justine traveled the country to train and compete as a competitive figure skater for over 15 years. Her figure skating career earned her a US Figure Skating gold medal distinction as well as a plethora of injuries- sparking her academic and personal interests in biomechanics and injury management. After leaving figure skating, she became passionate about road cycling and completed a sprint triathlon in 2013. She loves skiing and hiking, and she has summited a 14,000 foot mountain in Colorado. I am a former high school English teacher who resigned from my position to pursue a career in personal training. At age 25, I was overweight and decided to make a change. I signed up for private personal training sessions and developed a passion for fitness as I worked hard to lose weight and adopt a healthier lifestyle.
