Healthworks at Codman is now open!

A portion of all Healthworks Membership dues goes directly to the Healthworks Foundation, which operates Healthworks at Codman and Healthworks at St. Mary's.

The Healthworks Foundation Fitness Centers offer fitness and health resources to low-income women at the St. Mary’s Women & Children’s Center in Dorchester and at Codman Square in Dorchester.   Healthworks is expanding the mission of the Foundation to include the fight against youth obesity with the Codman Square project.

Healthworks at Codman Update:

Construction on Healthworks' new Foundation Fitness Center at Codman Square is now completed!  The new site features a state of the art 9,000 sq. ft. co-ed youth fitness center devoted to helping prevent childhood obesity among Boston youth. Additionally, the site will continue to support the health and wellness needs of low-income women. Please visit www.healthworksfoundation.org for more information.

How can you support the Codman Square Project?
While Healthworks has received a significant amount of support from various donors, grants and our members, we still need help to complete the Codman Square Fitness Center project. If you’re interested in supporting the fight against childhood obesity in Boston and promoting great health for low-income women, there are several ways to support the Codman Square project:

#1 - Monetary Donations
All monetary donations will go directly towards new equipment and programming costs.

#2 – Equipment/Supply Donations
The Codman Square Fitness Center is in need of the following new items for the center:
* Toys and Books for the Nursery
* Potted Plants for the Locker Room and Reception
* Nintendo Wii System, Components or Games for Kid’s Fitness Center
* Office Supplies including Multi-Purpose Copier and Computer Printer
* Small Refrigerator and Microwave for Staff Room
* Durable Plastic Bins for Organizing Nursery and Kid’s Center
* Any other new items that would support women and kid’s fitness and health needs

#3 – Volunteer Your Time
The Healthworks Foundation is actively looking for volunteers to staff the site or offer special programming. Whether you have a few hours to help out or are interested in making a weekly commitment, Healthworks would appreciate your support.

Please reach out to Tavia Patusky with any interest or questions at tpatusky@healthworksfitness.com or 617-859-8700.

Thank you for supporting the health and wellness of women and children throughout the greater Boston community!
