Areas of Expertise:

Body and lifestyle transformation, Holistic health, sports conditioning, kickboxing.

Training Philosophy:

TRUE HEALTH isn’t working out to get faster, stronger, thinner or bigger. True health is when you look at yourself in the mirror and are 100% content with your whole self, knowing that what you are putting into your body isn’t having a negative impact but rather an amazingly positive one. It’s when you stay active and workout out because it makes you feel good. It’s when you are so supremely at ease with your place in the universe that you can’t help but smile… That is TRUE HEALTH and that is what I help my clients obtain.

Client Testimonial:

“I started training with Jake approximately one year ago based on a recommendation from another trainer. I can honestly say that in that time, Jake has been instrumental in helping me transform my body and lose over 40 lbs! Jake possesses a rare combination of fitness knowledge and people skills that translates into great results for those he trains. His enthusiasm for his work shows and is infectious. He is wonderful at providing feedback, encouragement and positive reinforcement. As he has worked with me through my different levels of fitness, I feel he is well qualified to train people from all walks of life. He somehow makes working out both rigorous and challenging but also fun and invigorating. No matter how cranky or stressed I am before, I am always in better spirits at the end of one of our training sessions! Jake has also been integral in helping change my eating habits. His commitment to his own nutrition has served as inspiration in helping me adjust my own diet – with great results with respect to my weight and energy level!

In short, I truly value the time I have training with Jake and would not hesitate to say that he has immeasurably improved my quality of life.”

Training Philosophy:

To exercise actually means to bring into action. When we exercise, we bring into action our ancestral memories. We tend to think of exercise as losing weight or trimming fat. But to exercise is to enable the body to remember its past, so that it can stretch out with all its intertwined powers of being and thought and reflection.

Personal Accomplishments:

Maintaining work and life balance, Giving back to the community through coaching, mentoring and community activism and being a good role model for my 11 year old son and 9 year old daughter.

Client Testimonials:

“The Stretching I did with Telf immediately started lessening my pain. He suggested I begin taking yoga sessions (to calm my anxieties and help my flexibility). He told me exactly which class to take, as yoga varies in intensity and purpose. Telf also recommended I begin getting massages on a semi regular basis. I haven’t felt this great in a long time. I can’t thank him enough. One of the things I like most about Training with Telf is that I feel like he really cares about me. He has a kind way of telling me when I need to “step it up”. He celebrates with me every milestone I reach and he’s the first one to give me a hand when I encounter an obstacle.”
