Identifying Muscle Imbalances


The Class

Practical workshop to teach you how to identify and help correct muscle imbalances of the knee.

 Session will include:

-         Visually identifying muscle imbalances in the lower leg

-         Assessment techniques for muscle imbalance

-         Biomechanics of healthy knees

-         Anatomy: glutes, hips, lower leg

-         Safe exercises to improve strength and ROM

-         Foam roller techniques

-         Communicating with a client who is nervous/in pain

Marika Page,  CSCS, ACE

Presently, Marika is a Level III Instructor Trainer for Healthworks/Brookline, where she is actively involved in staff training and is a full time personal trainer.   Marika works primarily with clients with injuries or recovering from them.  She focuses on educating the client about anatomy and how to read the  'signals' of their own bodies to prevent future injuries.  Prior to transitioning to full-time training, Marika was the Assistant Fitness Director at Healthworks/Brookline.  While working for Healthworks, she was also the assistant lightweight women's rowing coach at MIT, and a consulting coach for Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA and Harvard University in Cambridge, MA.  She also speaks to college athletes about training with the United States rowing team.  Marika was a member of the 2005 USRowing team at the World Championships in Gifu, Japan.
