Running for a Cause
Meet our 2009 Boston Marathon runner
Rebecca Leventhal
Rebecca is a first year student at Harvard Law School and will be running her
third Boston Marathon. She is running to support the Healthworks Foundation
because it aligns with her personal values and professional commitments. Prior
to Law School, Rebecca worked for Hillary Clinton's Presidential Campaign.
Previously, Rebecca researched and advised a national non-profit on
corporations' initiatives to promote and retain women. While at Merrill Lych,
Rebecca spearheaded a firm-wide initiative to incorporate women into the
corporate culture and eliminate sexual harassment in the workplace.
Academically, Rebecca has focused on issues related to gender and has previously
guest lectured at Harvard Law School in a seminar on Gender and the Law. For the
past five years, Rebecca has mentored a young girl at the Timilty Middle School.
Rebecca is originally from Newton, MA.
Congratulations Christine Bullard for
completing the 2008 Boston Marathon on behalf of the Healthworks Foundation.
Christine was an employee for two years at our Chestnut Hill location and is
currently perusing her Masters in Public Administration in New York City.
Training hard all winter, Christine efforts have paid off, she has completed one
of the most prestigious marathons in history. She crossed the finish line
knowing that she is helping a great cause. Not only did Christine commit to
running this race, but she is also raising funds for the Healthworks
Foundation.
When asked why she is doing this Christine responded by say:
"Healthworks has done so much for me in terms of helping me reach my wellness
goals, and I think it's important that all women have the opportunity to be the
best version of themselves. As my way of giving back, I'm hitting the pavement
to raise money for the Healthworks Foundation, an organization that allows women
to do just that."
Please contribute a tax-deductible donation that will get
us one step closer to the finish line. All proceeds will go directly to the
betterment of the Healthworks Foundation Fitness Center at the St. Mary's Women
& Infant Center Campus and the development of the new fitness center for women & children in
Codman Square.
