Eco-Friendly Packaging

In addition to the eco-friendly composition of the merchandise at Envi, their packaging also has an impact on conserving materials and energy.  Envi uses recycled retail bags and encourages its customers to do the same.  To save paper, they also email receipts instead of printing because a little bit at each time adds up!  Next time you need to print something, ask yourself, do you really need to?

Quench with Respect
80% of the 25 billion single-serving plastic water bottles Americans use each year end up in landfills. Recycle your bottles, or better yet, choose to reuse with a refillable water bottle made of a refill-safe material.  Whole Foods Market sells an assortment of high quality, PVC-free water bottles perfect for your workout or everyday use.

Buy Local. Eat Local.

Buy your food from markets that sell locally produced foods. Not only are these products much fresher and more flavorful than frozen or long-refrigerated foodstuffs, but your purchase of them helps keep a small local community-based business in business while simultaneously reducing your carbon footprint.

All change starts from inside.

We make the decision to take ourselves down a new path. On that note, how about trying out the mantra the “Three Rs”- Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle.

Reduce- First step, get off those junk mail lists. Unsolicited flyers and catalogs are rarely printed on recycled materials and most junk mail ends up in the garbage.

Reuse- Use cloth napkins, repair old electronics instead of buying new or turn that old t-shirt into a pillow case. Never mind all those boxes and newspapers hanging around, ball them up and use them for packaging. And just because you cannot reuse something does not mean someone else can. How about those business suits and professional clothing, donate them to a non-profit that focuses on work placement for those in need.

Recycle- Everything from that peanut butter jar in the pantry to the computer on your desk can be recycled. Build yourself a little compost bin for kitchen waste and a few weeks later you will have free fertilizer for that mini garden where you grow those cucumbers or tomatoes. Also, try to purchase a product that is either refurbished or made with recycled materials.
