What is Pilates?
Pilates is a form of strength training focusing on core strength, and restoring the body back to its neutral placement and alignment. Here at Healthworks we offer a contemporary approach to Pilates by following the STOTT PILATES method along with other leading Pilates Methods. While working closely with a team of physical therapists, sports medicine, and fitness professionals STOTT PILATES has been able to keep the method current with the medical and fitness world, and has come to be recognized as one of the safest and most effective methods available. At Healthworks we’re able to offer a program tailored to your individual need, using equipment such as the Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, Barrels, Mats and the use of small props. We also specialize in pre/post natal, back pain, hip and knee injures, osteoporosis management, scoliosis management, athletic improvement, and more.

Intro to Pilates Reformer: This class is designed for those brand new to Pilates and/or the Pilates equipment. Participants will learn how to set-up and break-down equipment, personalize reformer settings, focus on breathing, body-awareness and the core principles that constitute the Pilates repertoire
reformer 1 (Essential): Building on the basics, this training is an appropriate level for participants with a working knowledge of the essential repertoire and equipment. Continue to enhance your strength and endurance in this challenging format that includes a full assortment of key exercises. Intro to Reformer is a prerequisite for this class.
reformer 2 (Intermediate):Challenge yourself! The reformer 2 level is appropriate for participants who have a clear understanding of basic Pilates principles in addition to the strength, endurance and coordination necessary to be successful in this more challenging format. Intro to Reformer and Reformer 1 are prerequisites for this class.
reformer 3 (advanced):Master your skill! Now that you are a seasoned Pilates participant, test yourself at a high level in this ultimate culmination of all your knowledge. Sequencing, balance, coordination, and control are all included in this demanding workout. Reformer 1 and 2 are prerequisites for this class.
Healthworks offers reformer training in private, partner, trio, 8-week season teamTRAINING and teamTRAINING single sessions of up to five people. These sessions are pre-scheduled and members should pre-register for each session.
